Dear GetzWell Families and Friends,
I never thought I’d be drafting a message like this. GetzWell Pediatrics and your children have been my babies since we opened our doors in 2008 and we have every intention of being here long into the future. And, therein lies the challenge. Not only are we facing a pandemic globally, at GWP we are also managing a small business crisis. Since early March, our business and revenues have dropped precipitously. Just as we are here for our GetzWell community, we are asking for your immediate active support if you have any health care needs in the days ahead.
We’ve adopted a two-pronged strategy to survive this crisis. First, we are offering expanded service options including home visits for wellness check-ups and vaccines, acute needs, virtual/telemedicine consults and more. Here is a link to our announcement about new services for practice members. Second, we are eliminating all non-essential expenses including temporarily closing our Union Street office (with a few exceptions) through at least April 6th.
I’m also writing with a personal request, particularly to those who have known me for a long time and who prefer to see me for appointments. I have an immediate family member in a high-risk health group that I must protect. As a result, I will be providing virtual visits, phone advice, and complex intakes and follow ups via video and phone. But, for the foreseeable future, I will not be providing in-person examinations.
GetzWell has three other incredible medical professionals: Nicole Glynn, MD, Alexa Knorr, PNP and Rachel Lynch, PNP. This is a link to their bios. Nicole Glynn and Alexa Knorr will be available to provide home visits and in-office visits (subject to advance screenings) during the next two weeks though Rachel Lynch will be out temporarily to care for her children while their daycare is closed due COVID19.
We will emerge from this pandemic stronger and with a more robust sense of community if we stick together. In the next few days, my staff will be in touch with those of you who have appointments with me through the end of April. Please be open to seeing our other fantastic providers until I am able to return to the office.
As mentioned above, I will be providing virtual visits, phone advice, complex intakes and follow ups via video/telemedicine. I will also consult with our medical professionals on any questions which you would like them to bring to my attention.
I am grateful for your support and kindly request your patience with us in this unprecedented moment.
Don’t hesitate to call 415-826-1701 or email at info@getzwell.com with any questions, concerns, or requests.
With humility,
Dr Julia Getzelman, GetzWell’s CEO & Founder
