Alexa Knorr, BSN, RN, MSN, CPNP

Pediatrician Group In San Francisco

Alexa Knorr’s career path was initially inspired by her aunt, a registered nurse caring for children in ER and ICU settings. When she attended Vanderbilt University as an undergraduate, Alexa continued to explore her interest in pediatric health and wellness by earning a bachelor’s degree with honors in Child Development.

Subsequent to Vanderbilt, Alexa attended Columbia University’s School of Nursing to pursue her Master’s degree and become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).

Upon completing Columbia’s program, Alexa worked for four years as a PNP at a well-established community health center in Manhattan and practiced in two different clinical settings: the Women and Children’s center on the Upper West Side and within several school-based health clinics. Later, she was promoted to a supervising role, providing administrative and clinical oversight to six school-based health centers serving several thousands of children per year.

While she greatly enjoyed her fast-paced employment in New York City, Alexa is thrilled to be able to spend more valuable time with patients and families at GetzWell. She believes that shared decision making and establishment of strong relationships between care providers and families help children meet their best wellness potential. Moreover, through her various clinical experiences, she is convinced of the environmental, social, and nutritional impacts that play a fundamental role in children’s physical, emotional and mental development.

On her own time, Alexa enjoys stopping to pet every dog she comes across on the street, trying new restaurants, traveling, exercising, and cheering on her favorite sports teams: the Chicago Blackhawks and the Vanderbilt Commodores.
