GetzWell Pediatrics is Vaccine Friendly
What does it mean to be a vaccine friendly pediatric practice? While we believe vaccines play an important role in keeping our patients and community healthy, we support parents in their decisions to adopt an alternative vaccination schedule different from the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). For instance, we are comfortable using Dr. Robert Sears’s alternative vaccine schedule (see The Vaccine Book) as a guide for immunizing our patients if parents believe this makes sense for their children. We recommend that all parents read The Vaccine Book, as it provides sound information about each of the childhood immunizations recommended by the AAP. We encourage an open discussion about vaccines and want to understand the concerns of our families, as we know that many have fears about vaccines and their link to autism.
